Audition Video Rubric

1. Choreography (10 points)

• Do they use unique, varied and complex types of head and body movements throughout the performance?

• Does the choreography make sense with the pace and feel of the music?

• Are the transitions between the movements smooth and cohesive, or do they feel disruptive?

2. Formations (10 points)

• ​Are formations unique, difficult and complex?

• Do the formations complement the choreography?

• Do they seamlessly flow from one to the next? 

• Is the variable use of stage space purposeful and effective?

3. Energy/Grace/Personality (10 points)

• Does the team maintain a high level of energy throughout the performance?

• Are energy and grace consistent among the team members?

• ​How well does the team display control with their movements?

• Do they look natural while dancing?

• Is personality conveyed through the movements of the dancers?

4. Synchronization/Cleanliness (10 points)

• How synchronized does the team look with the music, and as a group overall?

• Are there dancers who stick out for not dancing on the same level as the rest of the team?

• Did dancers finish their moves?

• Does the team have coordinated head and body movements?

5. Overall Impression (10 points)

• How well does the performance come together as one, complete, polished piece?

• How much WOW factor does the performance have?
