Unless explicit permission is given otherwise by Raas All-Stars (RAS) Judging Chairs, the following rules apply to the Competition Judging Chair and the AV judging process.

Note: All references to a Raas All-Stars (RAS) Competition apply to all Bid Competitions and Affiliate Competitions.


  1. RAS Judging Chairs will conduct the randomization of all team AVs. Competitions will be granted access to the videos only during the designated AV viewing period.

  2. The Competition Judging Chair may not be an AV Judge for the team selection process.

  3. The Competition Judging Chair and AV Judges should review all team guidelines and the rubric, and attend a required training before viewing AVs.

  4. The Competition Judging Chair and AV Judges may not:

    • Be on a roster member of any Raas/Garba team (e.g., dancer, manager, or any other affiliation) in the 2026-2027 season.

    • Be previously or currently affiliated with a team that has applied to that competition.

    • Judge at any 2026-2027 Raas All-Stars Competition or Raas All-Stars XIX.

  5. AV Judges, Competition Judging Chairs, and RAS Judging Chairs are contractually prohibited from disclosing any information about teams’ AVs or other sensitive information to anyone.

  6. A Raas All-Stars Competition's AV Judge may only judge AVs for 1 competition.

  7. There must be exactly 5 audition video judges for a competition.


NEW FOR 2026-2027 COMPETITION SEASON AND RAS XIX:

  1. A centralized AV judging panel consisting of 10 judges with prior experience judging in the Raas All-Stars Circuit will be established. Members of this panel may not:

    • Be affiliated with any Raas/Garba team or competition in the 2026-2027 season.

    • Be assigned to judge the AV of any team with which they were previously affiliated. 

    • Be a Bid/Affiliate Competition AV Judge for the 2026-2027 season.

  2. RAS Judging Chairs will be responsible for selecting the members of the centralized AV judging panel. 

  3. The centralized AV judging panel will independently evaluate each team’s AV during the designated AV viewing period. Scores from the panel will be combined with those of the Competition AV Judges to determine overall team rankings. 

  4. The centralized AV judging panel will follow the same AV Judging Guidelines, Rubric, and training requirements as the Competition AV Judges.
