Audition Video Team Guidelines

Audition Video Rules
1. Each team must have between 10 and 20 roster members on the AV roster and in the audition video.
2. 100% of the audition video dancers must be present in the video at all times, and their full bodies must be visible, even if standing on the side. Dancers are allowed to switch in and out.
3. 100% of dancers in the audition video must be listed on Ekta. At least 65% of the roster members listed on Ekta must be performing during the season. For example, if a team
has 20 AV roster members, 13 of those members must be listed on the team roster
during the season.
4. For fall competitions, the audition video must be between 1:30-2:30 minutes of
continuous Garba/Raas (including transitions between pieces), with a 30-45 second minimum
garba requirement. For spring competitions, the audition video must be between 2:00-2:30 minutes of continuous Garba/Raas dancing (including transitions between pieces), with a 30-60 second Garba Requirement.
5. The routine performed must reflect the current routine that is intended to be performed at each competition.
6. Different colored shirts must be worn to allow for visualization. For example, half the dancers may wear black while the other half may wear white throughout the entire video.
7. Camera must be fixed. There can only be one camera angle (front and center), and it cannot be zoomed or panned. A wide angle is permitted (0.5).
8. All formations must be visible.
9. The video must be good quality (720p or above).
10. The audio must be good quality – audio overlay is strongly recommended.
11. The video must either be MP4 or MOV file format.
12. File name must be in the following format: TeamName_CompetitionName_AuditionVideo.
1. Previous routines or performances will not be considered.
2. College/university or team affiliated items must not be worn, visible or audible in the video. This includes, but is not limited to: logo, mascot, symbol, slogan, colors, roster members’ names, etc.
3. No costumes or props are allowed in the video, except dandiyas.
4. No stunts, themes, dialogue, or voice overs are permitted.
5. No intro/outro videos are permitted.
6. The video must be continuous.
7. The video cannot have any special lighting or visual effects.
